The Timber Research and Development Institute, Prague, a state enterprise, was selected as the Technical Assessment Body (TAB) authorized to process European Technical Assessments (ETA) in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council (CPR) for selected innovative construction products in the wood processing industry which are not subject or fully subject to any harmonized standard. This assessment is a necessary step in obtaining the CE marking and placing the product in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Turkey.
ETA is an assessment of a product processed on the basis of the European Assessment Document (EAD) prepared by the European Organization for Technical Assessment (EOTA). An ETA application is a voluntary procedure which may be requested by a producer or by its authorized representative.
All necessary information on the TAB procedure is provided in the Quality Manual which is available for inspection from the Quality Manager upon agreement with the head of the TAB.
